Younik is a small contemporary workshop situated in the historical heart of Varese, near Milan. Here Elena Magni and Valeria Bellorini, linked by their passion for design and decoration bring into being hand-crafted furnishings within an exclusive craftsmanship scenario.
Younik creations are characterised by adornments realised using unusual, even unexpected materials, transformed into elaborate and compelling designs: gilded metal sheets, wire meshes, nuts, nails and washers. Each piece is produced in partnership with local master craftsmen: metal and glass work experts as well as specialists in galvanising.
Decorative themes are inspired by nature: the world of vegetation, flowers and animals is at the forefront. But what is often surprising is how this is set in such an original way within rigorous geometrical shapes which thus act as a framework to the wealth of decorations, creating harmonious contrasts and giving the pieces a decidedly contemporary attraction.
As background to the adornments are precious fabrics, such as silks, velvets and the finest cotton by the great names of weaving and interior design, boldly combined to achieve a fascinating scenic effect.
A passion for craftsmanship, meaning a new luxury concept which fuses tradition and style is at the heart of this activity, born aiming to offer furnishings with a unique expressive power that suffuse and colour an interior with charm and prestige.
